RIP King T’Challa

In February 2018, the world was introduced to the 18th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Black Panther. Actor Chadwick Boseman reprised his role as King T’Challa (aka Black Panther) in what was a sequel to both Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War. Later that same year, Boseman would appear as Black Panther in Avengers: Infinity War where he would fall victim to The Snap from Thanos, effectively killing him (and 3 billion others) and wiping T’Challa out of existence. Luckily, in 2019's Avengers: Endgame, the surviving Avengers found a way to reverse The Snap and bring their fallen brothers back, including T’Challa. So, thanks to the magic of movies, Chadwick Boseman’s character was able to defeat death. Unfortunately, we don’t live in a movie.

Sadly, on August 28, 2020, it was announced that Boseman had lost his four year battle against colon cancer. Boseman, who also starred in the Jackie Robinson biopic 42 as well as the James Brown biopic Get On Up, was 43 years old when he passed away at his California home with his wife and family by his side. Another young man lost too soon.

Rest in Power Mr. Boseman! Wakanda Forever!

Gotham Knights?

What could bring Red Hood, Robin, Batgirl, and Nightwing together? The death of Bruce Wayne of course. Wayne’s untimely death, ostensibly at the hands of the Court of Owls, leads this quartet to try and fill Batman’s cowl... um, shoes as the protector(s) of Gotham City. At least this is what seems to be the premise of the forthcoming open-world RPG, Batman Gotham Knights. Here’s the trailer:

This looks like another one I’ll be grabbing when it’s released. You can expect it in 2021 and it will be available for the PS4 and PS5 (also on the Xbox platforms if you’re one of those) as well as PC. Thoughts?

Outlaw or Legend?

I know I’m a little late to the game but I just saw the trailer for Hood: Outlaws and Legends which is coming to the PS4 and PS5 in 2021. A dark take on the Robin Hood storyline Sumo Digital may be on to something here. Check out the trailer below:

Based on that video alone, I am intrigued and can’t wait to grab it up! What do you think?

Rebooting?

Am I rebooting this blog? Maybe. Maybe not. Don’t think of it as so much of a reboot but more of a unplugging then plugging it back in sort of thing. While the rest of the world is uncertain with Covid, I have been battling my own health issues. While I’ll be battling these issues for the rest of my life, I figured why not start blogging again, so you have the “reboot.” So grab your towel, pour yourself a Pangalactic Gargleblaster and enjoy!
